Skin: Have a look in the mirror and evaluate your skin. Is there acne? Does it produce extra oil and give that greasy look? Does it need softening? Research shows that skin treatment starts with a good diet and exercise. Avoid greasy food and drink plenty of liquids. Regular exercise keeps the skin supple. If the skin is flakey, start exfoliating once a week to recycle the top dermal layer. If there is acne, take moderate measures but don't go overboard - your Indianapolis wedding photographer will re-touch acne with Photoshop, and the same goes for other blemishes. Makeup: Use makeup that doesn't come off with sweat, and avoid experimenting with new products within a week of the wedding. Here are two helpful links on makeup - Bridal Makeup Tips and eHow. Facials: Facials aren't a necessity but they can enhance your natural beauty. If they are to be done, schedule monthly facials about six months before the wedding, with the last facial no later than two weeks before the wedding. Last minute facials can leave the skin blotchy and red. Whether you do it yourself or go to a salon, to reduce skin irritation and redness, have glycolic peels and dermabrasion done at least one month before the wedding to allow time to heal for the wedding pictures. Tans: A touch-up tan can add to a bride's glow, but the most common mistake is overdoing it. Over-exposed skin can look grainy and fake and does not photograph well. The best tan is the healthy glow you get in the summer with sunscreen - there's always a bit of sun that peeks through sunscreen to increase your natural melanin production. Botox and Laser Touchups: Botox is a wrinkle relaxer and Laser Skin Resurfacing tightens the skin and reduces fine lines and wrinkles. If they are to be done, schedule them at least one month prior to the wedding to allow last minute allergic reactions and medical complications to heal for the wedding pictures. Hair: A beautiful hairdo will make you look glamorous for your wedding pictures. Here are links with sample hairstyles - Brides, USABride, and The Knot.
